Dae·da·lus Etymology: Latin, from Greek Daidalos
: the legendary builder of the Cretan labyrinth who makes wings to enable himself and his son Icarus to escape imprisonment.....
but Icarus falls into the sea and drowns when the wax of his wings melts as he flies too near the sun.
